special ordering
Prior to opening our storefront, Mariposa Food Co-op operated as a buying club where our member-owners used their collective buying power to order cases of good, healthy food at a discount.
Today, Mariposa member-owners save 10% on case quantities of products we carry in-store. This is an added benefit of becoming a member-owner at the Co-op!
How to place a special order
Special orders can be placed at the register or over the phone. A buyer will notify you when your order arrives. Due to ongoing supply chain issues, we can only accept special orders for items we carry in our store, or another flavor/variety of an item we carry.
What Can You Order?
Any item we carry can be ordered as long as it’s available from the distributor.
Please note: The typical case size is 6 or 12 items while items ordered from the bulk department (dry beans, granola, rolled oats) range from 25 to 50lbs.
Additionally, if your order is placed prior to the end of a sale, you will receive the sale price even if your items come once it’s over. The 10% special order discount does not apply to items on Co+op Deals, Owner Deals, or Flash Sale.
NEW! Special Order Co+op Basics
Co+op Basics can now be ordered in bulk and members can receive an additional 10% discount on those items.
Restocking schedule
We encourage member-owners to pick up special orders as soon as possible. After we contact you, we’ll hold your items for the following time period:
Groceries and nonperishable items will be held for 14 days after they arrive.
Perishables (refrigerated and frozen items) will be held for 7 days after they arrive.
Produce, meats, and seafood will be held for 3-5 days after delivery, depending on the product.
If items are not picked up within their designated time frame, they will be restocked and sold.
